How Onyx Duct Cleaning Was Born in North Hollywood
Onyx Duct Cleaning came into being in 2013, and it grew out of a simple frustration we kept seeing in North Hollywood homes. People were paying for work that was rushed, overpriced, or never properly finished. Vents got a quick wipe while the main trunk lines stayed packed with years of dust. Quotes changed once the van showed up. That kind of work bothered us deeply, and we believed this neighborhood deserved better.
We set out to build the kind of company we would want walking through our own front door. That means an honest look at the system before any price is quoted. A clear written estimate that does not balloon with surprise charges. And a job that is finished to the standard we would accept in our own home, not the standard that is fastest to pack up from. North Hollywood deserves tradespeople who treat a customer’s house with the same care they would their own. That belief is why Onyx Duct Cleaning exists, and it still guides every job we take on.
Our Founder’s Personal Connection to the Air Duct Cleaning Trade
Thirteen years of cleaning air ducts teaches you things about houses that most people never think about. You learn that no two duct systems are quite alike, even in the same North Hollywood neighborhood. A mid-century home in NoHo Arts District built in the 1950s has different ductwork than a newer build in Valley Glen. You learn that the return side of a system often collects more than the supply side, and that the registers closest to a kitchen can get coated in a fine layer of grease mixed with dust. These are not things you read in a manual. They are things you notice when you have spent over a decade crawling through attics and working through crawlspaces in this city.
What we check twice before we call a job done is the part that matters most: the trunk lines. Visually, with real before-and-after photos. We will not tell a homeowner their ducts are clean because the vent covers look nice. We will not skip the return side because it is harder to reach. And we never rush the final walkthrough, because that is the moment a customer gets to see proof of what was actually done inside the walls of their own home.
We care about this work because the people living in these homes are breathing the air that moves through those ducts. A good job means the system is visibly cleaner, the airflow feels right, and the customer has photographs that document exactly what we did. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and it has not changed since the first day we hung our name on a van.
Meet Our Team – The Person Behind Every Job
Onyx Duct Cleaning is led by its owner and founder, whose name is on the company and whose standards shape every visit we make. He built this company from the ground up in 2013, after spending years in the trade learning what separates careful work from careless work. He is not a franchise technician running through a corporate checklist. He is a local business owner who knows that his reputation in North Hollywood rises and falls on every single job.
What makes him different is commitment. When a customer asks a question, they get a straight answer. When a price is quoted, it is the price. And when work is done, he wants to see the same before-and-after photos the customer sees. That is personal accountability, not a script. If you hire Onyx Duct Cleaning, you will get a team that answers to him, and he answers to you.
Our Promise to North Hollywood Homeowners
We promise to quote one flat price per system before work begins and to stick to it. The written estimate you approve is the price you pay, with no per-vent upcharges and no surprises tacked on after the van is parked.
We promise to use quality equipment from names like Rotobrush and Abatement Technologies, because good tools are part of doing a good job. And we promise to stand behind every visit. If something is not right, you tell us and we make it right. That is the whole point of hiring a local company instead of rolling the dice.
Our Credentials
- State-licensed: our technicians are required to hold the license the state requires for this work.
- Insured and bonded: every pro working under our name is required to carry the insurance and bond coverage the job calls for.
- 13 years of local experience: we have been cleaning air ducts in the North Hollywood area since 2013, with all the hard-won judgment that comes from it.
- Strong local reputation: our business has been built on referrals from homeowners who saw the before-and-after and told a neighbor.
Why does any of that matter to you? Because the person you invite into your home to work on your air system needs to be legitimate. A license means they answer to a real authority if things go wrong. Insurance and bonding protect you against damage or loss. And years of local experience mean the crew has seen a thousand small problems and knows how to avoid them. Your home is not a training ground, and hiring someone with real standing is one of the smartest decisions you can make.
Rooted in North Hollywood
We work in the neighborhoods we know because this is where our customers live. NoHo Arts District, Toluca Lake, Valley Glen, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Burbank, Glendale. We know these streets, these houses, and the way years of valley dust settles into the ductwork. The San Fernando Valley climate does not get harsh winters, which means our systems cycle for cooling much of the year, pulling air through the same filters and ducts month after month. That is the reality of air quality here, and it is why cleaning a system right matters so much. We are proud to do this work in the place we call home.
Call (833) 589-9715 to talk about your home’s ductwork. We answer 24/7. Fast dispatch from 7am to 7pm, Sunday through Friday.
